Good Ole Html Practice homework! One of the cool things about being signed on with VitaminT is they offer free training courses. I decided to take on more studies during the stay at home order here in Washington state. I am currently not working so I have loads of free time.

One of the classes I am currently taking is Html for Designers. The course is a great review (for those like myself who known some html) and a great challenge all at once.

Here was the challenge. Take a plain text recipe and insert into the tags some modifications to make the typography look awesome. Here is what I created:

Chocolate Mug Brownie

This makes a delicious brownie for one in about a minute. I used a 1500 watt microwave. 60 seconds makes a molten center brownie. 75 seconds make a uniformly done brownie. Careful not to overcook. Find the original recipe here.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 dash salt

Preparation

  1. In a 12 oz coffee mug, add water, butter, vanilla and dash of salt. Whisk well.
  2. Add cocoa powder, whisk well. Add sugar, whisk well. Add flour, whisk well.
  3. Microwave for 60 to 90 seconds. Center should be slightly molten. Be careful not to overcook!
  4. Enjoy with a spoon. Careful, the brownie will be hot.

See the original background color here on jsbin. The background color for html does not show up in this blog. Interesting squarespace! And here lies the limitations on my understanding of html. So instead I turned certain blocks above the yellow #ffdb66
