Here is Another Cool Way to Get Art Supplies

I suffer from a unique loyalty to my current art supplies. As a way to disrupt this loyalty I was eager to try Art Snacks, a subscription-based art company that sends each of its subscribers a package once a month with a variety of items inside. The other element of Art Snack is the hashtag #artsnackschallenge on Instagram to challenge each subscriber to create a piece of art using only its supplies.

Since my first subscription corresponded with an unusual snow day in Seattle, I decided to make a little snowpocalyse drawing using the included supplies. The Rembrandt Soft Pastel in Cool Greens are the base color on Stonehenge Kraft Paper with Faber-Castell White Pitt Artist Pen (1.5mm Bullet Nib). It was delightful to receive a box just before a city-wide shut down and I can’t wait to see what March’s art box will bring.

I have recommendations on basic supplies —-How to get started as an artist. I offer a free download of a shopping list.
